Why you should pamper yourself!

As you can tell there is a little bit of a theme going in with my blog at the moment. I hope you don’t mind me steering a way a little bit from travel (but don’t worry there’s plenty more to come).

I have been focusing a lot lately on pampering yourself and previously Hot Yoga Review!. I have been really lucky to have attended 2 events with Origins in the past.

For years I have been using Origins products and making sure I take care of my skin. Cleansing properly every night has definitely paid off. I went through a phase around 5 years ago where my skin was just absolutely terrible. I was getting so many spots but they were really painful and I knew from then I had to take some steps in solving this myself. I ended up watching one of Tanya Burr’s skincare routines on Youtube and it pretty much changed the way I look at my everyday skincare routine.

After watching this video I immediately bought the Clinique – Take The Day off Cleansing Balm, Clarins toner, Origins Mega Mushroom day + night cream & the Origins Out of Trouble mask.

My original thought when I looked into buying these products I knew I would be spending a lot more money than I would be just buying make-up wipes. The reason I changed my perspective on this is that if this means that my skin improves, my confidence will then improve and it is completely worth it.

Still to this day I use my Clinique Cleansing Balm every night & I have deep-dived into all of the Origins products. I swear by their Face masks & Moisturisers and I am still discovering new products to bring into my routine.

Although recently from starting work at Lush I have been focusing on even more natural products and combining my cleansing balm with the amazing Dark Angels Cleanser. Charcoal is absolutely angelic for my oily skin as its helping to extract any excess dirt and oils I have in the morning and evening.

My routine works and by knowing this I don’t mind spending a bit extra on skincare products.


I have recently fallen deeper in love with Origins after attending the previous events. At the last event I went to they were offering a free 1 hr Ultimate Facial and I booked myself in.

The ladies are trained in Indian massage and I got the full works. There really is no better way to spend a Sunday than walking into town with no make-up on, getting a facial and a massage. It was so relaxing and if I could do it every week I would. Alex who is the manager is so lovely and the facial was completely tailored to my skin type. I used a couple of products from the Mega Mushroom range and my skin felt so refreshed afterwards.

Normally the Origins Ultimate Facial is £65, that may sound excessive but this £65 is then redeemable against any products you purchase. It seems like a really good idea to go for the facial and then use the products that are tailored to you. If I wasn’t already a huge lover of Origins I would find this a really great way to get into it. They also have other facials which are free of charge which is amazing.

We can all relate that we live in rather stressful times, surrounded by social media, negative news & for me plenty of university deadlines.

We can all do with taking time for ourselves, checking into how we are feeling & making sure we pay attention to both our skincare and our mental health.

It doesn’t sound ‘big-headed’ but my appearance does affect my mental wellbeing as if i’m in a good place with how I look then my confidence will be sky high keeping my positivity in check.

I do a face mask at least once a week as I like to make sure I do something where I don’t think about doing work and I’m just completely detoxifying. I’ve recently been taking an evening with my flatmate and doing a full pamper using the Lush Full of Grace serum to help our Don’t Look at My Face mask soak in and work even harder.

Just take half an hour out of your evening and relax whether that be having a bath, doing a face mask or just practising some yoga and meditation. Trust me it works!
